Chad Kimes

Chad Kimes is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in leadership and technical roles across multiple organizations. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Vanta since August 2024, Kimes previously held various positions at GitHub from January 2020 to August 2024, including Principal Software Engineer and Director of Engineering. Prior to that, Kimes worked at Microsoft from March 2017 to December 2019, where roles included Principal Software Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineering Manager. Early career experience includes software engineering positions at Interface Technologies, Inc. and Cree, along with a foundational role as an R&D Engineer. Kimes earned a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Florida, completing studies in 2011.
