Philippe Schwaller

Philippe Schwaller is a tenure track assistant professor at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) since February 2022, focusing on AI-accelerated synthesis and discovery of molecules with an emphasis on sustainability. Prior to this role, Philippe Schwaller worked at IBM from March 2017 to February 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher and pre-doc researcher in cognitive computing and industry solutions. Philippe Schwaller's earlier experience includes a research assistant position at Empa in 2016, a software development internship at Sensirion, and internships at EPFL and Ecole d'ingénieurs et d'architectes de Fribourg. Philippe Schwaller holds a PhD in Chemistry with a focus on Machine Learning from the University of Bern, an MPhil in Physics from the University of Cambridge, and multiple degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from EPFL and The University of Manchester.
