Frank Savage is the Managing Partner of Savage Holdings, LLC, a closely held advisory company which provides advice to U.S. and foreign companies and investment funds.
Frank has a distinguished career in international banking, venture capital, investment and fund management having held senior positions with some of the major financial institutions in the world including Citibank, where he served in the Middle East and Africa, Equitable Life Assurance Corp. (now AXA Inc.) in the Private Investment Management Department and Alliance Capital Management International as Chairman. Mr. Savage serves as Emeritus Trustee of his graduate alma mater, The Johns Hopkins University, where he served as Chairman of the Advisory Board of The Johns Hopkins Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is also Chairman Emeritus of Howard University, his undergraduate alma mater. He served as Advisor to Thabo Mbeki, former President of South Africa, and a board member of the New York Academy of Medicine and the Institute of International Finance (IIF). Frank currently serves on the board of directors of Bloomberg L.P. He previously served on the boards of a number of Fortune 500 companies including Lockheed Martin, Inc., Qualcomm Inc., Enron, Alliance Capital Management and Arco Chemical, Inc.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962 from Howard University and a Master’s in International Relations in 1968 from The Johns Hopkins University Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. He holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters from Hofstra University and an Honorary Doctorate from Howard University.
Frank is the author of the highly acclaimed memoir, THE SAVAGE WAY, Successfully Navigating the waves of Business and Life, published in 2012 by the John. S. Wiley and Sons publishing company. Frank is an accomplished ocean sail boat racer and the winner of the prestigious Lord Nelson Trophy as overall winner of the 2003 Antigua Race Week.
