Aparna Tyagi is a seasoned professional in the field of natural climate solutions, currently serving as a Senior Program Officer at Verra since May 2024. Prior to this role, Tyagi held multiple positions at South Pole from August 2021 to May 2024, including Senior Technical Expert in Nature-based Solutions and Senior Project Coordinator. Tyagi's earlier experience includes serving as an Associate Research Fellow at TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute from October 2016 to July 2021, alongside pursuing a PhD at TERI University from January 2013 to December 2019. Tyagi's initial research experience involved internships at the Wildlife Trust of India and the Wildlife Institute of India, focusing on human-carnivore conflict assessment and mapping impacts of hydroelectric projects, respectively. Tyagi holds a PhD in Natural Resources Management and Policy from TERI School of Advanced Studies and a Master's degree in Environmental Science from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Additionally, Tyagi earned a Bachelor's degree in Botany/Plant Biology from Delhi University.
