Silva Krause

Silva Krause is an experienced leader in biomarker strategy and clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as the Executive Director, Head of Biomarkers at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since July 2018, Silva has held various roles including Senior Director and Director, focusing on kidney disease and other rare diseases. Key achievements include leading the validation and implementation of biomarkers in clinical settings and developing a genotyping assay for global clinical trials. Prior to Vertex, Silva worked at Momenta Pharmaceuticals, managing translational medicine initiatives for oncology drug candidates, and held a research fellow position at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School, leading breast cancer projects. Silva earned a PhD in Cell Biology from Tufts University School of Medicine and has a strong academic foundation with extensive training in bioengineering.
