Bert Urlings

Bert Urlings serves as the Director of Quality Assurance and Public Affairs at Vion Food Group since April 2002, with previous roles including Corporate Director of Quality Assurance. Urlings is a member of the Dutch Council for Animal Affairs and has served on various boards, including IFS - International Featured Standards and GlobalG.A.P. From 2004 to 2014, Urlings was a part-time professor of Supply Chain Management in Animal Production at Wageningen University. Past contributions include serving as a member of the Working Group for the European Food Safety Authority and scientific advisor to the European Commission. Educational credentials include a PhD in Processing of Animal Byproducts and a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Utrecht University, alongside a Diplomate in Food Science from the European College of Veterinary Public Health.
