Chris Evans

Chris Evans serves as the Group Head of Safety and Sustainability at Virgin Active South Africa since September 2024, having previously held several significant positions within Virgin Active from November 2006 to November 2024, including Safety and Facilities Director for South Africa and Africa. In these roles, Chris has managed safety and health protocols across 141 sites in five regions, as well as operations in Namibia and Botswana. A background in safety management is complemented by experience as National Health & Safety Manager and Regional Safety Manager in the UK, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and overseeing operational management in various clubs. Prior experience includes serving as Key Operations Manager at Holmes Place, and Chris holds multiple qualifications in health and safety, facilities management, and sports management, including an International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
