Heather Abbott

Heather Abbott is an experienced professional in human resources and community engagement, currently serving as the Coordinator for Athletics Human Resources at Virginia Tech Athletics since March 2024. Abbott has held various leadership roles, including Team Manager and Booster President for Christiansburg High School Men's Soccer, Fundraising Coordinator for the Christiansburg High School Marching Band, and Secretary for the Christiansburg High School PTSA. Previous experience includes serving as a Substitute Teacher for Montgomery County (VA) Public Schools and maintaining a position on the Board of Ridgewood Swim Club. Abbott also has a background as a Paraprofessional and an Independent Educational Consultant with Usborne Books and More. Abbott studied Mass Communications at Virginia Tech from 1998 to 2000.
