Michiel Ritzen is currently the Head of the Competence Center on Sustainability Assessment at VITO, where responsibilities include serving as a senior expert in circularity and project manager for the Sustainable Built Environment. Prior experience includes a role as a senior researcher focused on sustainable built environments at Zuyd Hogeschool, technical coordinator for the EU H2020 project DRIVE 0, and senior researcher for the EU UIA project Super Circular Estate. Ritzen has contributed to various national and international projects, served as a jury member for Solar Decathlon Africa, and held leadership positions with iiSBE and EnviAA. Ritzen earned a PhD in Architectural and Building Sciences/Technology from Eindhoven University of Technology and an MSc in Architecture from Delft University of Technology.
