Tjarda Molenaar serves as the Managing Director of the Nederlandse Vereniging van Participatiemaatschappijen since December 2002, focusing on sector promotion and public affairs management in the Netherlands and the European Union. Molenaar is also a member of the General Council for VNO-NCW, representing the Dutch Private Equity Association. Additional roles include membership on the Nyenrode Foundation Board and as a former member of the Advisory Committee for Seed Capital at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Molenaar has held various positions including Chair of the Supervisory Board at SKBNM and member of the Expert Group on Business Finance for the Ministry of Economics and Climate. Previous experience includes roles at Gilde Investment Management, A.T. Kearney, and positions in education as a member of councils. Molenaar is currently a PhD candidate at VU Amsterdam, researching the integration of environmental, social, and governance factors in private equity and venture capital investments. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Econometrics from the University of Amsterdam.
