Dieter Zetsche

Dieter Zetsche, born 1953 in Istanbul, studied electrical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), graduating with a Master’s Diploma in Engineering. From 1976 Zetsche worked in the research department of the former Daimler-Benz AG. He received his Doctorate in Engineering from the Gesamthochschule Paderborn (now the University of Paderborn) in 1982. Dieter Zetsche had been a member of the DaimlerChrysler AG Board of Management since 1998 and became Chairman of the Board of Management in 2006. Zetsche was a member of the Supervisory Board of RWE Power AG from 2009 to 2016. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of TUI AG, where he was elected Chairman in 2019. Additionally, he joined the Advisory Board of the Aldi Süd Retail Group in 2019.
