ML Project Manager

About the Role

VRIFY is seeking an experienced ML Project Manager to orchestrate the successful delivery of our machine learning and AI initiatives. This pivotal role will work closely with the Senior Machine Learning Engineer to implement and manage our ML project lifecycle, ensuring efficient execution and delivery of complex AI solutions. You will be instrumental in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring alignment between technical development and business objectives. Working within our AI and Targeting department, you will play a crucial role in implementing project management frameworks specifically tailored for ML initiatives, supporting VRIFY's position at the forefront of AI-enhanced mineral exploration and geospatial analytics.

As an ML Project Manager, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Data Engineers, Geodata Scientists and ML Engineers to ensure successful execution of AI projects. Your expertise in ML development lifecycle and agile methodologies will be crucial in maintaining efficient workflows and ensuring seamless coordination between various technical teams. You will implement best practices for ML project management, maintain robust tracking systems, and optimize resource allocation across multiple initiatives. By fostering effective communication and promoting structured project management approaches, you'll play a key role in enhancing the delivery success rate of our ML projects. Your coordination efforts will support the implementation of ML best practices, facilitate efficient development processes, and ensure systematic approaches to managing complex AI development and deployment challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Implementation & Coordination: Execute project management frameworks for ML/AI initiatives. Implement comprehensive project plans aligned with technical requirements and business objectives. Maintain project tracking and reporting systems. Coordinate cross-functional team activities and deliverables.
• ML Process Management: Implement ML-specific project management methodologies established by technical leadership. Maintain standardized templates and workflows for ML project lifecycle. Support best practices for model development, testing, and deployment. Monitor and report on project metrics and KPIs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. Coordinate regular project updates and status reporting. Support technical teams in managing stakeholder expectations. Implement effective project communication channels.
• Resource Coordination: Manage resource allocation across ML projects in coordination with technical leads. Track team capacity and project timelines. Identify and escalate resource constraints. Support knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications 

• Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on ML/AI projects. Track record of coordinating complex technical projects. Experience with agile methodologies in ML development environments.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. PMP certification or equivalent project management certification required. Additional certifications in Agile methodologies highly valued.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Understanding of ML development lifecycle and MLOps practices
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks and development tools
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and ML services
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of agile development and CI/CD practices
  • Understanding of data pipeline development processes
  • Familiarity with geospatial and geological domains preferred
