Liudas Karnickas

Liudas Karnickas is the Managing Partner at Law firm Karnickas & Partners since January 2016, with additional roles including Member of the Patient Council of Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics since October 2022 and Co-Founder and Chairman of the board for the Lithuanian Data Protection Officer's Association since November 2017. Previously, Liudas served as Chief Legal Officer at Biomapas from August 2020 to December 2021, Head of IP & IT practice at COBALT Legal from February 2013 to January 2016, and Senior Associate at Ellex – Baltic circle of legal excellence from March 2005 to February 2013. Liudas gained valuable experience as a Legal Intern at the European Patent Office from August 2011 to January 2012. In academia, Liudas was a Visiting Lecturer at ISM University of Management and Economics from January 2014 to December 2018, focusing on IP law and management for high-tech startups. Educational qualifications include a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in IP law from Queen Mary University of London, a Master’s degree in Business law from Mykolas Romeris University, and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Mykolas Romeris University.
