Karl Berntorp

Karl Berntorp is a distinguished scientist at Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics, focusing on multi-agent routing, resource allocation, and path planning since October 2024. Previously, Karl held several leadership and research roles at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories from August 2019 to October 2024, and was the owner of AB Berntec from April 2017 to October 2024. As a co-founder of the engineering consultancy AB Benoso, Karl contributed to technical consulting in control, estimation, machine learning, optimization, and solid mechanics from 2014 to August 2019. Karl's prior research experience includes a position at MERL, where the focus was on optimal estimation and control, and earlier academic endeavors involved a Ph.D. in Automatic Control at Lund University.
