Hovanes Gasparian

Hovanes Gasparian is a seasoned data science professional with a diverse background in machine learning and public policy analysis. Currently serving as a Staff Data Scientist at Walmart since December 2024, Gasparian previously held multiple roles at VIZIO from March 2021 to December 2024, progressing from Machine Learning Engineer to Staff Machine Learning Engineer. Prior experience includes leadership as a Lead Data Science Instructor at General Assembly and internships at SPIDR Tech and the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology, where work focused on data analysis for public policy initiatives. Extensive research experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California, resulting in published works in prominent education finance repositories. Gasparian holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, along with a Data Science Immersive certification from General Assembly.
