Allison Tennant

Allison Tennant is an Associate in our Environmental Policy Practice, where she provides clients with research and advocacy support on a variety of climate and clean energy issues. Her areas of interest include carbon dioxide removal, just clean energy transitioning, climate resiliency planning, and sustainable food systems development.

Before joining Waxman Strategies, Allison worked in the Climate and Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists, where she focused on engaging supporters in advocacy efforts for climate solutions in impacted communities. Through UCS, she also partnered with the Institute for Carbon Removal Law and Policy at American University to facilitate the Carbon Removal Working Group, made up of 20 U.S. environmental organizations who debated solutions to carbon removal issues. Previously, Allison helped engage students around sustainability issues through Amherst College’s Office of Environmental Sustainability, and she interned at the Environmental Law Institute.

In 2019, Allison graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and French. She was active in campus environmental movements, including leading a campaign for Amherst to commit to being carbon neutral by 2030 and implement a robust climate action plan, which was adopted unanimously by College leadership. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and backpacking, going to concerts, and cuddling her two cats, Juniper and Sage.
