Tessa Weinberg

Tessa Weinberg is an experienced reporter currently covering Chicago city government and politics for WBEZ as part of Chicago Public Media. With a strong background in journalism, Tessa was a founding member of The Missouri Independent, where coverage focused on health, education, and the Missouri legislature. Prior to that, Tessa served as the state government reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, managing daily political stories while also producing in-depth features. Tessa’s extensive experience includes roles at ABC News as a fellow, where assistance with research and coverage was provided, and earlier internships and positions at various news organizations, including Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Columbia Missourian, and PolitiFact. Tessa earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
