Maximilian Jo

Maximilian Jo serves as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at WEBTOON since 2021, overseeing the business and legal affairs for the WEBTOON family of companies, including Wattpad, YONDER, and Wattpad WEBTOON Studios. Prior to this role, Maximilian was the General Counsel for Kanye West's various business enterprises at YEEZY from 2019 to 2021. From 2012 to 2019, Maximilian held the position of General Counsel and Head of Business & Legal Affairs at CJ Entertainment America and OGN Esports in the U.S. Earlier in the career, Maximilian gained experience as an associate at Allen Matkins LLP, Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment. Employment also included a graduate associate role at Disney ABC Television Group and internships at Seyfarth Shaw LLP and VH1 Business & Legal Affairs. Educational qualifications include a JD from USC Gould School of Law, an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business, a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan, and studies at Yonsei University - Korean Language Institute.
