Umar Saeed

Umar Saeed is a highly experienced accounting professional currently serving as a Partner at Welch LLP since March 2020, providing audit and advisory services to diverse clients. Prior to this role, Umar worked as Principal, Public Sector Accounting at CPA Canada, where accounting standards for the Canadian public sector were developed. Earlier experience includes serving as Senior Advisor, Accounting Policy at the Ontario Ministry of Finance, where accounting policy was written and interpreted for the province. Umar also held the position of Vice President, Operations at Citco, leading teams in accounting for complex hedge funds, and began a career at Ernst & Young as a Chartered Accountant, gaining significant exposure to banking and hedge funds. Umar holds a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo, obtained between 1998 and 2003.
