Rich Broadbent grew up in Berks County and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he holds a BS in Industrial and Management Engineering. He went on to earn an MBA from St. Joseph’s University. Rich is married with two adult children. He lives in Berks County with his wife Allison. Rich previously served on the Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital Board.
Rich spent nearly a decade working in engineering, operations and supply chain roles for Baldwin Hardware Corporation, a manufacturer of high-quality brass hardware and giftware. His early experiences included time studies, manufacturing supervision, development and implementation of cellular manufacturing, and refinement of Baldwin’s inventory control systems. Rich went on to lead Baldwin’s logistics and information services departments where he worked to streamline operations with other divisions owned by Masco Corporation.
He later went on to Dorman Products, a distributor of hardware and auto parts to the automotive aftermarket. There he served as the Corporate Materials Director and Vice President of International Operations. In his 8 years with Dorman, he oversaw corporate supply chain management, the implementation of multiple new ERP and warehouse management and automation systems, as well as integrating several acquisitions into corporate operations. Most notably, Rich led a project team in developing a new hardware program for Walmart that streamlined Walmart’s supply chain operations and dramatically reduced restocking time.
Currently, as the President and Owner of Bench Dogs, Rich has overseen the organization’s growth and development as a supplier to the U.S. custom display and store fixture industry and the commercial case goods market. Rich has focused on expanding Bench Dogs’ infrastructure and capabilities while developing a very diverse and capable team. These efforts have led to significant revenue increases and earned recognition in the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing private companies on two occasions. Bench Dogs has two manufacturing facilities in Denver, Lancaster County.
