Anastasia Swanson

Anastasia Swanson, PhD, currently serves as a Project Coordinator at Wesco, having joined the company in May 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Grants & Funding Manager at Nyoka from February 2023 to April 2024, Lead Project Research Scientist at TMRW Foods from September 2022 to February 2023, and as a Hyperspectral Imaging Consultant while freelancing from September 2020 to September 2022. Anastasia's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from University College Dublin, supported by a Master of Science in Biodiversity and Conservation from Trinity College Dublin, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Calgary. During the tenure at University College Dublin, Anastasia contributed to the Spectral Imaging Research Group, utilizing machine learning to develop predictive models for poultry product quality and safety, authoring four peer-reviewed articles, and mentoring students as a graduate teaching assistant. Prior experience also includes working as a Herbarium Digitization Assistant at the University of Calgary.
