Jon Mendoza

Jon Mendoza is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Director of Crestview School of Inquiry K-6 at West Des Moines Community Schools since July 2023. Prior to this role, Jon held various positions in Des Moines Public Schools, including Director and Principal of the Virtual Campus 6-12 Online School, and Director of Digital Literacy & Online Learning from June 2018 to July 2023. Jon's career also includes serving as a K-12 Technology Integrationist and a third-grade teacher at Pella Community Schools, as well as teaching and coaching roles at Van Meter Community Schools. Jon holds a Master’s Specialist Degree in K-12 Superintendency from Northwest Missouri State University and two Master's degrees in PK-12 Principal/Administration and PK-12 Special Education from Northwestern College. Jon completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Central College and attended Waldorf University for additional studies.
