Matthew Jira

Matthew Jira is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international development and humanitarian assistance, currently serving as a Senior Consultant at Westrock Coffee Company since June 2022. Prior to this role, Matthew held various positions at USAID from 2014 to 2022, including Deputy Division Chief for the Bureau for Conflict Prevention and Stabilization, where responsibilities encompassed managing a significant global conflict mitigation mechanism and leading critical humanitarian operations for Afghan refugees during Operation Allies Welcome. Matthew's background also includes significant program and project management roles across multiple regions, including the Dominican Republic, Rwanda, and Asia. A former Sergeant First Class in the US Army, Matthew is a combat veteran with a strong foundation in operations planning and interagency coordination. Matthew holds a Master of Public Administration in International Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, both from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
