Kris Sheehan

Kris Sheehan is an experienced risk and performance management professional with a strong background in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) leadership within the mining sector. Currently serving as General Manager Risk at Whitehaven Coal, Kris leads the development and implementation of risk culture and strategy, fostering collaboration among business units. Prior positions at BHP include head roles in HSE for New South Wales Energy Coal and BHP Mitsubishi Coal, where Kris managed complex regulatory environments, oversaw emergency response teams, and achieved significant project approvals. Kris holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Environmental Management (Honours), along with additional qualifications from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
