Dr. Saskia Ostendorff

Dr. Saskia Ostendorff serves as the General Counsel at Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. since November 2023 and has been a practicing lawyer specializing in media law and criminal law at Ostendorff.legal since October 2018. As a co-founder and Head of Legal at Open Legal Data since February 2018, Dr. Ostendorff promotes free access to legal information. Previous experience includes serving as Legal Counsel at Verimi with a focus on anti-money laundering, digital identities, and open-source management, as well as lecturing on Design and Media Law at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and Public Commercial Law at The Berlin School of Economics and Law. Dr. Ostendorff's legal training included roles as a trainee lawyer in various legal firms and institutions, complemented by academic qualifications including a State Exam in Intellectual Property Law and ongoing PhD studies in 3D printing and Intellectual Property Law at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
