Afonso Gonçalves da Silva

Afonso Gonçalves da Silva is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in systematic trading strategies. Currently serving as a Senior Strategy Manager at Winton since 2021, Afonso previously held the position of Senior Strategist at GSA Capital from 2008 to 2020 and worked as a Quantitative Analyst at Concordia Advisors from 2006 to 2008. Afonso's academic background includes a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Econometrics & Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), along with a Licenciatura in Mathematics Applied to Economics & Management from the University of Lisbon. Afonso has also served in various teaching roles at LSE and worked as an Economist at Banco de Portugal early in the career.
