Malte Fischer has extensive experience in economic analysis and reporting, currently serving as Chefvolkswirt at WirtschaftsWoche since October 1998, focusing on German and international economic conditions, monetary and currency policy, and European Central Bank oversight. Prior to this, Malte Fischer worked as a researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy from August 1990 to October 1997, where responsibilities included analyzing business cycles and co-authoring bi-annual reports for the German government, as well as conducting econometric studies on foreign trade determinants. Malte Fischer holds a Diplom-Ökonom degree in Economics from Ruhr University Bochum, obtained between 1983 and 1990.
