Dr. Olivia Biermann

Dr. Olivia Biermann is an accomplished public health expert with extensive experience in global health research and policy. Currently serving as a Consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2019, Dr. Biermann has focused on knowledge translation through the SORT IT initiative and contributed to important COVID-19 desk reviews for the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response. Dr. Biermann holds a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Karolinska Institutet, conducting political economy analyses of adolescent mental health and leading evaluations of the Global Financing Facility in various countries. Previous roles include consulting for NIRAS International Consulting, where mapping of mental health support was conducted, and several significant research positions at Karolinska Institutet and WHO, fostering collaborations and publishing influential guidelines and reports.
