Elva Borja

Support Consultant - Pacific Sub-region (fiji-based) at World Organisation for Animal Health

Elva Borja, DVM MVPHMgt, currently serves as a Support Consultant for the World Organisation for Animal Health in the Pacific Sub-region and in the implementation of Global Framework for Transboundary Animal Diseases and related activities. In addition, Elva provides veterinary technical support for laboratory diagnostics at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness. With extensive experience in veterinary practice, Elva has acted as Managing Director and Resident Veterinarian at Vet Essentials Animal Doctors Fiji since 2014, while also mentoring veterinary professionals as a Peer Advisor. Previous roles include Virtual Learning Centre Coordinator for the FAO, Senior Veterinary Officer at the Fiji Ministry of Agriculture, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Fiji National University. Elva's educational background includes a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of the Philippines and dual master's qualifications in Veterinary Public Health Management from the University of Sydney.
