Sonia is Road Safety Coordinator at WRI México, where her main task is to base decision-making on diagnosing and contextualizing road safety at different scales, through information management and spatial analysis. Sonia coordinates the various activities of the Road Safety program, addressing the following topics: research, public policies and institutional development, communication and dissemination, data and information management, infrastructure (road safety audits and inspections) as well as Training and Capacity Building.
In the private sector, Sonia has worked for DHL Express México and Axis Logistics, as well as in Grupo Autofin de México, where she developed the structure for a yellow cab executive service. She has also worked at the consultancy firm Steer Davies Gleave México, where she participated in projects relate to urban mobility in México City, Guadalajara and León on parking analysis,communications campaign and social management to encourage the use of bicycle lanes, public transport and modal integration and safe crossings. She also has worked on mobility anlysis of pedestrian and cycle facilities along the road for the linear Park at Avenida Chapultepec.
Sonia Aguilar is a Transport Engineer from the National Polytechnic Institute and a Master in Transportation Systems from the School of Engineering from the National Autonomous University of México.
