Maxim Shmelev

Maxim Shmelev is a Technical Trade Specialist at the World Trade Organization since May 2022, previously serving as an Expert-Consultant at the WTO Expertise Center. With extensive experience in trade policy analysis and legal research, Maxim has advised the Eurasian Economic Union's Court and worked with the Eurasian Economic Commission, focusing on trade remedies and compliance with EAEU and WTO agreements. Academic contributions include lecturing at IELPO LL.M. and Moscow State Institute of International Relations on regionalism and legal foundations of the Eurasian Economic Union. Maxim's educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce in International Economic Relations from MGIMO and a Master of Laws in International Economic Law and Policy from Universitat de Barcelona.
