Ernie Ward

Ernie Ward is a highly experienced veterinary professional and founder of the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, a position held since January 2005. Currently serving as Chief Veterinary Officer at VerticalVet since January 2018, Ernie is also a member of the Financial Advisory Committee for the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) and part of the Animal Welfare Committee at the Morris Animal Foundation. Other roles include serving on the Board of Directors for the CATalyst Council and as an advisory board member for Wedgewood and Companion. Ernie co-hosts and produces the Veterinary Viewfinder Podcast, which addresses challenging topics in veterinary medicine. In addition to these positions, Ernie owns E3 Management, Inc., offering veterinary industry consulting services, and previously led the veterinary team at Basepaws by Zoetis. Ernie Ward earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The University of Georgia from 1987 to 1992.
