Warren H. Hausman is a Professor of Operations Management in the Department of Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University. His most recent research project analyzes the benefits of IT-enabled global trade management; TradeBeam Inc. has supported this research. He is currently performing research on “Smart” visibility in supply chains; Lockheed-Martin Corporation supports this research.
Professor Hausman served as the Departmental Editor for Logistics for Management Science from 1974 to 1982. In 1994 he was elected President of the Operations Research Society of America (ORSA). He has also served on the Board of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and on several National Science Foundation Advisory Panels and Committees. He is a Fellow of INFORMS, a Distinguished Fellow of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society, and a Fellow of the Production & Operations Management Society. He has also won several teaching awards, including the Eugene Grant Teaching Award in Stanford’s School of Engineering in 1998. Professor Hausman served as Department Chair for the Industrial Engineering – Engineering Management Department at Stanford from 1982 to 1992. He has been serving on the XECAN's advisory board since 2011. He earned a BA in Economics from Yale and a Ph.D. from MIT.'s Sloan School of Management.
