Russell Karas

Russell Karas is an experienced professional in the commodities and energy sectors, currently serving as the Head of Commodities at Xpansiv since November 2021, overseeing diverse business lines including carbon and renewable energy credits. Prior to this role, Russell was the Senior Director of Energy Products at CME Group from August 2011 to October 2021, where responsibilities included enhancing liquidity in various energy contracts. Before joining CME Group, Russell worked at Science Applications International Corporation as an Energy Efficiency Consultant, managing state energy efficiency projects and providing consultancy on energy policy. Russell's educational background includes an MBA in Finance, Strategy, and Marketing from NYU Stern School of Business, an M.S. in International Relations with a focus on Energy Policy from New York University, and a BA in Political Science and Economics from Hofstra University.
