Byron Brooks

Assistant Director Of The Afro American Cultural Center at Yale University

Byron Brooks, M.A., serves as the Chief Hood Officer at Hood Black & Educated Consulting Group, focusing on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in various sectors including higher education and non-profits. Byron is also actively involved with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., serves as the Social Justice Programming Coordinator at Ferris State University, and participates in the ACLU's National Advocacy Institute. Additionally, Byron is a board member for the OUR BROTHERS KEEPER SHELTER, an executive board member of the Mid-East Honors Association, and the founder of From The Hood For The Hood Incorporated, a nonprofit dedicated to youth and community empowerment in Detroit. As a producer for Be-Moor Radio, Byron oversees production activities and tasks. Previously, Byron held the role of Student Body President at Henry Ford College and contributed to the Diversity Task Force as an audio engineer, while also obtaining multiple degrees and certifications from prestigious institutions, including the University of Michigan and Harvard.
