Vishal Mohanty

Vishal Mohanty is a Machine Learning Software Engineer currently working at YouTube since September 2024, focusing on enhancing platform safety through the detection of Generative-AI content. Previously, Vishal served as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at X, the moonshot factory, from July 2023 to October 2024, where the work involved visualizing the electric grid using computer vision and deep learning technologies. Vishal also interned at Meta in June 2022, contributing to the WhatsApp Client Foundations Team by creating a bilingual bridge for core functionalities. At Rubrik, Inc., from July 2019 to August 2021, Vishal was a lead engineer on the VMware Cloud Director team, developing data backup and restoration software. Vishal's earlier experience includes an internship at Google in 2018, where a recommender system was developed for Google Pay. Vishal holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Technology with honors in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, complemented by a summer research exchange at the University of Melbourne focused on cryptography and statistics.
