Colleen Metz

Colleen (Thomas) Metz currently serves as a College Consultant and Managing Editor at Zenith Prep Academy since June 2023. Prior to this, Colleen spent six years as a Social Studies Teacher at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, focusing on IB History and AP U.S. Colleen's experience in sports journalism includes a role as College Sports Editor at The Sporting News, where responsibilities included managing content for college football and basketball, overseeing an internship program, and collaborating with writers. Earlier career experience encompasses roles as a Digital Desk Intern at The Sporting News, a UE Beat Writer for the Evansville Courier & Press, and as a Freelance Sports Writer for various publications, including the Associated Press. Colleen earned a BA in History from the University of Michigan and a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
