Tom Scherlis is an accomplished Robotics Software Engineer with a focus on trajectory planning at Zipline since September 2022. Prior experience includes serving as President and Co-Founder of TartanAUV, where Tom led the development of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles and successfully placed third internationally in the RoboSub competition in 2022. Tom has held various internships, including at Apple and Zipline, where contributions included developing embedded software for drone delivery systems and streamlining hardware test management tools. Academic experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University and internships at the Planetary Robotics Lab and Leap@CMU, where Tom instructed high school students in robotics. Tom earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
