Sam Thomas

Sam Thomas possesses extensive experience in the insurance sector, currently serving as the Head of Retail Underwriting at Zurich Insurance since February 2019. In this role, Sam is responsible for the technical underwriting performance and delivery of results across various segments, including E-trade and Personal Lines, while also leading a team and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Prior to this, Sam held the position of Head of Mid Market, overseeing the Regional Mid Market P&L. Previous roles at AXA UK included Strategy Development Manager for Mid Market and Assistant Property Manager, with foundational experience at Allianz Insurance as a Property & Casualty Manager and Senior Underwriter, among other positions. Sam holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Warwick.
