  • Candidate experience: How do job seekers feel about their interactions with your company? Is your hiring process efficient? Do you communicate enough with candidates? Are candidates dropping out of your hiring process — and if so, at what stage? Are your employees happy with how they were hired?
  • Employee reviews: What are your past and present employees saying about you online? Do they feel like your company lives up to its word on employee value proposition? How many positive and negative reviews does your company have? Are employees talking about you on social media? What are the most common complaints they have, if any? How are you responding to negative reviews?
  • Compensation: What compensation packages do you offer? How do your salaries compare with your competitors? What about benefits? Do your employees feel they are adequately compensated?
  • Employee satisfaction: What is the employee turnover rate? Are your employees happy with your company? Do they respond well to internal surveys? What improvements would they like to see for your employer brand?

Depending on the scope of your audit, you may want to review all of these factors or only a few. The more details you take into account, the more insights you can gain for your employer brand.

4. Gather the data you need.

Now that you have your list of questions laid out, it’s time to dig into the answers. Do you have access to the data you need, or will you need to loop in other teams — or even roll out a survey to get feedback? Work with your team to identify what questions can be answered now, and make a plan of attack for any gaps you need to close.
