Oona Vaisanen

Oona Vaisanen is a Senior Client Strategist at 10up. Oona has over six years of experience in the field of communications and marketing, with a focus on strategy and research.

Oona began their career as an intern at Mindshare in 2013, before being promoted to Project Team Member/Translator at Tieto the following year. In 2012, they were promoted again to Project Lead at Lutakko Living Lab.

In 2015, Oona joined Carat UK as a Communications Planning Assistant. Oona worked closely with the manager to brief stakeholders and develop activation plans for LEGO, one of the most successful and recognisable global brands. Within their team, Oona was responsible for ensuring that everyone was clear on timelines and they supported the delivery of multiple workstreams.

A core focus of Oona's daily undertakings was performing research and providing insights regarding the market, trends, and competitors. This research helped the team and client in making decisions about further development and strategy-driven marketing.

In 2016, Oona left Carat UK to join Consider Creative as a Strategist. Oona remained in this role until 2019, when they joined 10up as a Senior Client Strategist.

After completing their high school education at Kuopios High School of Music and Dance, Oona Vaisanen went on to study business administration at Jamk University of Applied Sciences. Oona later participated in an exchange programme at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht), where they studied international business skills. Upon returning to Jamk University of Applied Sciences, they completed their bachelor's degree in international business.

Vaisanen then decided to pursue a postgraduate certificate in conflict and development from The Open University. After completing the certificate programme, they enrolled in a diploma course in history of art from London Art College. Oona has also obtained a certification from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) in IPA Foundation Certificate.

Their manager is Sarah Williams, SVP, Client Delivery. Oona Vaisanen works with Martha Schmidt - VP, Account Strategy, Jean Mastriano - Associate Director of Business Development, and Kathleen Romania - Senior Account Strategist.
