Mia Makanui

Mia Makanui has a diverse background in the banking industry, with their most recent role being VP Vendor & Project Management at 1st Security Bank of Washington. In this position, they led the bank's merger with Anchor Bank and the acquisition of several Bank of America and Columbia Bank branches. Mia also oversaw the bank's Vendor Management Program, Project Management Team, and served as the Chairperson of the Operational Oversight Committee. Prior to this, they served as a Project Manager, AVP at the same bank, where they successfully implemented strategic initiatives and facilitated vendor management administration. Mia also managed the acquisition of four Bank of America Retail branches. Mia's experience also includes roles at The Commerce Bank of Washington and Foundation Bank. Mia started their career at U.S. Bank, where they worked in Commercial Customer Service and Treasury Management.

Mia Makanui obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism/Media Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. Mia also attended Hilo High School. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification as a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner from the institution Prosci in January 2017.
