Dennis Mikeska has over 30 years of work experience in multi-disciplined areas of warfare expertise and operations. From 1985 to 2008, they worked for the US Navy in various roles, including Captain, US Naval Aviator, Post Major Command Commanding Officer, and Senior Staff Officer; Asst Deputy Commander / Chief of Staff, and N3/N5/N7; Commanding Officer, USS JUNEAU (LPD 10); Commanding Officer, USS DENVER (LPD 9); Executive Officer, USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70); Commanding / Executive Officer, Strike Fighter Squadron, VFA-83; Chief Operational Test Director & Maintenance Officer, Air Test & Evaluation Squadron, VX-9; Department Head, Strike Fighter Squadron, VFA-27; Squadron Pilot, Strike Fighter Squadron, VFA-195; and Instructor Pilot, Training Squadron, VT-25.
In 2008, they joined US Joint Forces Command as Chief, Joint Exercise Division, Operations Group, leading 350 active duty military, reserve military, United States Civil Service employees, and contractors in support of the U. S. Joint Staff's combatant commander exercise program.
From 2015 to present, Dennis Mikeska has been working at 2 Circle Consulting, Inc. as Partner | Exec VP Science & Technology Solutions | Senior Scientist, Partner | Department Director | Senior Scientist, Partner | Division Manager | Senior Scientist, and Senior Scientist | Engineer. As Executive Vice President for the Science & Technology Solutions Department, they lead, shapes and grows strategy, mission, vision, and values within the department, and across the company. Dennis is responsible for the day to day operations and execution of three major business units supporting the warfighter: DARPA Division, Program Analytics Division, and Bomber Aircraft Division.
Dennis Mikeska began their education in 1982, earning a Bachelor's degree in Physics with an emphasis on Space Physics and Astronomy from Rice University in 1985. In 1983, they obtained a Basic Parachutist certification from the US Army. In 1988, they earned a US Naval Aviator certification from the US Navy. In 1994, they completed a PhD course at the Naval Postgraduate School and was awarded a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering with a minor in Laser Physics. In 1997, they obtained a Commercial Instrument Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration - FAA. In 2004, they earned a U.S. Military Post Graduate Technical Degree in Nuclear Systems Engineering and Naval Reactors Operation from Naval Reactors. In 2007, they were awarded an Honorary Chief Petty Officer from Glenn Mallo, Command Master Chief, USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70). Finally, in 2008-2009, they completed JPME Phase II at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA.
