Melissa Downes has extensive work experience in marketing, communications, and project management roles. Melissa is currently the Global Head of Marketing at 26 Degrees, a position they started in February 2022. Prior to this, Melissa worked as a Senior Manager of Communications at BT from August 2021 to February 2022. Melissa also held various roles at MLC Australia, including Senior Marketing Consultant and Take to Market Manager, from July 2019 to August 2021. Before joining MLC Australia, Melissa was employed at ANZ as a Content and Communications Manager from February 2018 to June 2019. Melissa also worked as a Marketing Manager at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd from March 2016 to November 2017, and at Genworth from February 2015 to December 2015. Melissa's earlier career includes a role as Marketing Director at Washington Brown from July 2014 to February 2015, as well as positions as a Reporter, Journalist, and Editor at Time Warner from March 1996 to May 2004.
Melissa Downes obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Macquarie University, where they pursued a double major in Resource Management and Anthropology. Melissa then went on to complete a Masters of Marketing degree at the University of Sydney's Business School. In 2020, Melissa attended Columbia University for Executive Education in Digital Marketing. Additionally, they received a certification in Marketing Excellence from MES in 2018.
