Mattias Karls

Mattias Karls is an experienced executive with a diverse background in industrial engineering and management. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Business Advisor at Direct Carbon since January 2023, Mattias is focused on carbon capture solutions for the HVAC and vertical farming sectors. As a co-founder and board member of Disruptive Materials, Mattias has contributed to the development of advanced materials with significant market potential, following a successful tenure as Co-Founder at Applied Nano Surfaces AB. Additionally, Mattias has held various roles including Project Manager at Uppsala University and Project Leader for the Swedish Trade Council in Chicago. With a Master of Science from Linköping University and further qualifications from Styrelseakademien and international institutions, Mattias combines technical expertise with strategic insight in leadership roles.
