Nishantha Medagoda

Nishantha Medagoda, PhD, is a seasoned professional in machine learning and data science, currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at 2degrees since September 2023. Previously, Nishantha held similar roles at T-shirt Ventures, where responsibilities included developing machine learning models for NDIS participant management, and Suncorp New Zealand, focusing on insurance-related machine learning applications including price optimization and risk identification. Prior experience includes leadership roles in data science teams at Plexure and Insite AI, as well as significant contributions to natural language processing at McCarthyFinch. Nishantha's academic background includes a PhD in Natural Language Processing from Auckland University of Technology and various degrees from the University of Colombo.
