Michael Hensen

Michael Hensen has extensive work experience in finance and financial planning and analysis. Michael is currently the Head of FP&A at 2seventy bio since November 2021. Prior to that, they held the same role at bluebird bio from July 2021 to November 2021. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Anika Therapeutics. Before that, they worked at Insulet Corporation, where they held various roles including Director of Finance Global Operations & Mfg from March 2018 to October 2020 and Senior Finance Manager from April 2016 to February 2018. Michael also has experience from their time at Royal Philips as a Senior Finance Manager, FP&A from October 2013 to April 2016. Before transitioning to the finance industry, they worked at Starbucks Coffee Company as a Senior Finance Manager from 2006 to 2013, where they contributed to cost reduction initiatives and decision support analysis. Michael also served as a Finance Manager and Manager of Cost Accounting during their tenure at Starbucks. Prior to that, they worked at Amazon.com as a Manager of Finance, where they established SEC segment reporting and operational cost analysis. Before joining Amazon.com, they worked as an Instructor at Ohio Dominican University from 1995 to 1999, teaching various business courses. Michael started their career at SPIEGEL, INC as a Manager of Financial Control, responsible for accounting and financial planning for DFS, Inc. Michael also worked as an Information Systems Analyst/Team Leader at PPG Industries, designing and implementing management information systems.

Michael Hensen's education history is as follows:

From 1980 to 1982, they attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where they studied accounting. Michael did not obtain a degree during this time.

From 1982 to 1985, they attended the Wisconsin School of Business, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on accounting and finance.

Subsequently, from 1989 to 1992, they attended the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business. Michael earned their Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in international business during this period.
