Julie Karant

Julie Karant serves as the Regional Communications Manager at SEIU Local 32BJ since August 2006, bringing extensive experience in communications and campaign management. Prior roles include Senior Associate at CommunicationWorks, LLC, where the focus was on education policy, and Campaign Events Manager at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Julie Karant also worked as Press Secretary for Congressman Ronnie Shows and held positions at Bannon Communications Research, The Urban Institute, and various political campaigns, including Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Carol Moseley-Braun. Julie Karant’s career began in marketing and communications, with a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Iowa.
