Margie Russell has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Margie has held various roles throughout their career, starting in 1968 as a Cashier at Hills Supermarkets. In 1972, they worked as an Inventory & Filing Clerk at Georgetown Manor, Ethan Allen Furniture.

Margie then worked at Vanderbilt Elementary in 1973 as a Playground Supervisor, Assistant Teacher, and Lunchroom Monitor. The following year, they were a Teacher and Bus Driver at Park Shore Nursery School & Camp.
