Tyler Cottle

Tyler Cottle has a diverse work experience in various fields. In 2016, they worked as a New Development Planning Intern at Southern California Edison (SCE), where they carried out tasks such as reviewing and editing contractor base maps, as well as updating preliminary drawings in AutoCAD.

In 2017, Tyler served as an R&D Intern at Keysight Technologies, where they provided support for various projects by designing test jigs, optical setups, and production tooling. Tyler was also responsible for assembling and testing designs to improve component testing and manufacturing for production.

In 2018, Tyler worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Dehlsen Associates. In this role, they designed and built a prototype electric bike kit for an unconventional bike frame. Additionally, they developed speed limit, GPS tracking, and cellular/IoT connection for managing a fleet of bikes. Tyler also collaborated with international manufacturers to lay the groundwork for scaling production.

Tyler also has experience in the education sector, as they served as an Assistant Robotics Coach at Santa Barbara High School from 2018 to 2019.

Most recently, Tyler held the position of Application/Automation Engineer at 3D Infotech, Inc. Starting in November 2019, they supported metrology and quality activities across automotive, aerospace, and biomedical fields. Tyler carried out tasks such as inspecting customer parts and fixtures with 3D scanners, portable CMM arms, and laser trackers. Tyler also integrated 3D scanners with collaborative robots and inspection software to deliver fully automated systems for part inspections. In addition, Tyler trained customers on PolyWorks, 3D scanning, and robot programming.
